In the face of COVID-19, we are grateful that Amazon could continue to serve our customers and selling partners. Customers were able to order and receive what they needed during a global pandemic and our selling partners, in many cases, grew
their businesses as their physical storefronts saw decreased sales. The pandemic also attracted bad actors who tried to take advantage of the situation, and despite their attempts, we continued to make strong progress driving counterfeits to zero in our
store. In 2020, Amazon invested over $700 million and employed more than 10,000 people to protect our store from fraud and abuse. As a result, the vast majority of our customers continued to only find authentic products in our store.
