Ukraine signed its Association Agreement (AA), including the Deep
and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA), with the European Union
(EU) in 2014. Seven years on, it is time for a wider-ranging evaluation of what
the AA has achieved, and how it is shaping up in the face of new and
evolving challenges.
As detailed below, Ukraine has advanced substantially, if
unevenly, in implementing the AA and DCFTA. The ratings in this
summary show that a good number of chapters have advanced
reasonably well, but those that are lagging behind and in need of
attention are also signalled.
