On 30 July 2020, King Mohammed
VI of Morocco celebrated the 21st
anniversary of his reign. A look back
at his twenty-plus years in power will
demonstrate how foreign policy was a
key area of interest and dedication for
the King.
Aside from Morocco’s growing focus
on Africa, its efforts to diversify
relations and dependencies, as for
example indicated by the deepening
links with Russia, China, India, Brazil
among others, and the adoption of a
more combative and self-confident
foreign policy, are further examples of
Morocco’s shifting foreign policy over
the past two decades.
