African countries are increasingly turning to entrepreneurship as a one of many solutions to boost employment, productivity, and inclusive economic growth, however, like other regions there is room to grow. This report identifies seven categories of challenges facing African entrepreneurs – namely governance, financing, markets, supports, human capital, culture, and infrastructure, based on existing literature and i4policy’s policy research with entrepreneurs in 12 African countries.
